As operators of the largest transportation fleet in Ireland, our incentive to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions couldn’t be higher. We’ve set ourselves challenging targets; we need to do everything we can to ensure we meet them.

Every effort, big or small, makes a difference. That’s why we’ve introduced:
• modifications to truck and trailer bodies, loading and engine size
• tests on various styles of spoilers, visors and lamps to improve aerodynamics
• driver training, fuel efficiency targets and collective rewards schemes
• sophisticated scheduling between our Kilcock, Cork and Galway distribution centres, decreasing mileage, increasing trailer utilisation and increasing backhaul
• in-cab technology to allow derivers to view their real-time fuel efficiency performance
• weekly announcements of group performance.

We’ve learnt that it’s a real challenge to change people’s driving habits - but we’ve seen excellent results.
